This was such a beautiful, haunting, touching story. From the beginning it burrowed into me, then later, as everything became different than it originally seemed, and the characters went through their trials, I actually got physical aches in my chest and stomach from imagining the tragedy and love between Art and Lance. But then you realize that it's not a tragedy at all, because love doesn't end. And just imagining what they went through...wow, it still gives me a beautiful pain in my chest, Lance following Artie back in and all. "Lance always finds me." And the story delves much deeper than you expect going in, and continues with deep obstacles that Gavin and Piers have to face. It's just a wonderful short story, one that will stay with me, I'm sure. Five full stars and my recommendation to read this immediately to everyone!

I enjoyed this story nice twist on Arthurian legend. Would liked to have seen a bit more of the three-some but that's because I like M/M. An unexpected twist or two but an enjoyable rainy afternoon read with an HEA that left a smile not face. Will read more from this author!
the story was well thought, the characters endearing.

but the first chapters i thought i was having to go thought them with a shovel sincerely. i didn't want to give up because it looked nice enough and the book is worth it in the end.

but this is not a book i would advise to read if you are tired or with a headache. you wouldn't get it easily.
I hand out lot of 5 stars, but this one really deserves it. The plot was so very interesting and beautifully done. The characters were well drawn, not always likeable, but real and loveable. If you're good with MM romance, this book should not be missed.
Harper Fox never ceases to amaze me. I love how...I don't know...ethereal her stories are. They are contemporary romance, to be sure, but when I'm reading them she always makes it feel like the world is not quite this world. Just a tad different...a little bit behind the veil.
This book was my first experience of Harper Fox. I enjoyed the book, but was hoping for a story that would be a bit more graphic in its depictions of sex. I guess that's just not his style. And that's OK. I felt that all of the characters were well-developed and the writing flowed smoothly. The central conflict in the book, coming out to family, was not explored very deeply, but those of us who have dealt with this issue probably filled in between the lines from our own experiences. This book will be a pleasure for those seeking a sweet, tasteful love story with a paranormal twist.
Winter Knights is a beautiful story that caught me by surprise in two major ways. First, given the summary, I assumed the Arthurian component of the tale would play out very differently. The modern day twist for the knights in shining armor was clever. Second, I wasn't expecting the author's treatment of Piers, the closeted Catholic who utterly broke Gavin's heart. Harper Fox handled the complications of a relationship across both sides of the closet with a deft touch. The story managed to evoke sympathy for Piers in a way that had me reflecting on my own issues with patience, communication, and intolerance when dating someone closeted. "Winter Knights" packs quite a narrative punch with its sublime blend of stark realism, paranormal fantasy, and Christmas miracle.
Short story, but honestly I do not think it could have been longer. It takes place in northern England, near Hadrian's wall, during the night between Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. It was written just in the right way since it was about disclosures, aha-experience and a Christmas Miracle. Of course, the story leaves the reader wondering if it really happened and did it happen that way? Since my life once was saved in a way I still cannot explain, I prefer to believe it was meant to be real, but you might think otherwise. Anyway, it is a sweet love story. It shortened considerably the waiting time at the airport.
